Addiction and Recovery

Recovery from addiction is not about the alcohol, drugs, gambling, sex or chocolate, it’s about identifying the issues that are causing an individual to want to use ‘something’ in the first instance – usually for emotional pain relief.

Removing the drugs or alcohol by safely detoxing someone in a rehab environment is just a small part of the treatment. It is relatively easy to complete the initial medically assisted detox aspect of a rehab placement, but the real solution and essential component of any rehab placement is the person focused rehabilitation support that follows the detoxification. That’s how we identify the root causes which have eventually resulted in the person’s use of alcohol or drugs to manage their emotions and feelings.

"It is essential that individuals are in a safe and trusted rehab environment when they start to address their root cause issues."

At ESH Community we provide this rehabilitation support following the detox through professional counselling, group therapy and education sessions.

We are very clear about what makes a successful rehab and what makes it work for each and every individual resident – it’s the interaction between people, the staff, the individuals with the addiction problem, and their families and friends.

Our professional staff have personal lived experience of addiction and recovery, they have a passion to help others and this combination along with their professional and clinical skills is very powerful, it changes lives, and that is what is required to overcome addiction.

"Recovery from addiction is about the care, support and understanding that every staff member can give to the person with the problem and to show them how they can live again."

People are at their most vulnerable and emotionally unstable directly after completing their detox, so just attending a rehab for detoxification doesn’t work. In our experience it’s essential that people with addiction problems must be in a safe, supported and protected environment when they start to explore their issues which led them into addiction.

If people are not separated from drugs and alcohol in a safe place and supported 24/7 when they try to address their root cause problems the emotions get too much for them to cope with without the professional support and guidance they resort to the coping mechanisms of using alcohol or drugs as they have done in the past to deal with those very same emotions – they are then back in the problem again.

Addiction Rehab

We support people in our drug and alcohol rehab who have the addiction problems. We also provide family support guiding families through the issues relating to alcoholism, alcohol dependency, binge drinking, alcohol and drug addiction problems.

The specialist addiction counselling support that we provide also addresses other associated addictions such as social media addiction, co-dependency, gambling addiction and gaming issues.

"We provide professional and highly successful drug and alcohol addiction rehab support at our local residential rehab within easy travelling distance."

Our recovery support programme also addresses the emotional issues and symptoms associated with addictive behaviours including, isolation, stress, anxiety, depression, anger and low self-esteem.

Residential Rehab

Our addiction treatment programme of support and aftercare was designed by professionals who themselves have lived personal experience of drug and alcohol addiction and who understand what is required to achieve a successful recovery.

" Everyone at ESH Community has found their own peace and contentment as part of their journey of recovery. We have the experience and knowledge to support and guide you to find freedom and peace in your life."

The recovery and counselling programme is based around our very successful leading edge model focused on a smaller personalised recovery community that provides local support for local people - this approach has several key benefits which all contribute to our incredibly high success rate.

Addiction Support

Our addiction treatment centre was purposely established as a small recovery community with drug and alcohol treatment at the same location as our accommodation. Our addiction support programme is designed to support a smaller number of residents, which enables us to provide the best possible personal and focused therapy and support for each individual. Our team of professional and experienced staff, therapists and counsellors are able to offer the optimal personal and dedicated time for each and every resident.

Addiction Aftercare

By providing support for people who are local to the facility in the West Midlands enables us to deliver the essential on-going addiction aftercare that is required when the residential alcohol and drug addiction treatment has finished. This on-going aftercare support has an incredible impact on the sustained recovery success rate of our residents which is currently second to none.

Family Support

Local support also means we can give direct support to the families of our residents in parallel but separate to the resident's treatment stay and then on-going support alongside resident's aftercare.

Medically Assisted Detox

Our team of professional staff support and monitor residents 24/7 safely through any drug and alcohol medically assisted detox minimising any drug or alcohol withdrawal symptoms. Our specialist addiction consultant psychiatrist supervises all detox and rehab admissions.

Residents are then guided through our drug and alcohol treatment programme which will identify the root cause of the addiction issues and the long term solution.

Multicultural Support

We provide for the needs of all religions, faiths, beliefs and cultures including any specific catering requirements for example Vegetarian, Vegan, Halal, Kosher, etc.

We promote the principles of mutual respect, openness, honesty, trust and equality in all our addiction support programme activities.
