Admissions at ESH Community

Starting treatment can feel like a big step but you won’t do it alone.

At ESH Community, we keep the admissions process supportive, calm and confidential from the moment you make contact.

We are a male-only residential detox and rehab offering medically monitored detox, therapy and aftercare in a peaceful countryside setting. With only a small number of residents at any one time, each person receives the time, attention and personalised care needed to recover safely.

We accept enquiries and referrals from individuals, family members, GPs, substance misuse teams, support workers and other professional services. All conversations are confidential and we are happy to provide guidance and answer any initial questions before decisions are made.

Assessment

To understand a person’s needs, risks, and detox requirements, all prospective residents must complete a Referral and Assessment Form. This can be emailed, completed digitally or, if preferred, completed during the pre-admission visit. The information shared allows us to ensure that the person is clinically suitable for residential detox and rehabilitation.

Before admission, we invite all potential residents to attend a pre-admission visit. This is an informal opportunity to meet staff, see the environment and discuss expectations, needs and any concerns.

Families are welcome and encouraged to attend as this can help reduce uncertainty and provides clarity about the programme and support available. During the visit we will also talk through any detox requirements and current medication. If attending in person is not possible, we can arrange a video call once the referral form has been received.

For straightforward information about pricing, call us for an informal, no-obligation chat with the team.
We understand the need for affordable drug and alcohol rehab, which is why we keep our prices competitive.

Dual Diagnosis

We are able to support individuals with dual diagnosis, meaning those who have a co-existing mental health condition alongside addiction. Suitability is considered on a case-by-case basis depending on the stability of symptoms, medication, risk and ability to participate in treatment. Many people experience improvements to their mental health once detox and therapeutic support begins.

All admissions are reviewed clinically and any medically monitored detox is approved and overseen by our consultant addiction psychiatrist. Residents must have the capacity to consent to treatment. They must also engage in daily activities, groups and therapy.

Let’s Connect

When a placement is agreed, an offer letter and welcome pack are sent. We then work closely with the resident, family or referrer to arrange the admission date and ensure everything is in place. In the days leading up to arrival, we encourage regular contact so the individual feels supported, informed and connected before stepping through the door.

Reaching out for help is a meaningful and courageous step. Whether you’re seeking treatment for yourself or supporting someone else, we’re here to guide you through the process with understanding and reassurance.
