Family Support
Welcome to ESH Community, a non-profit alcohol and drug rehab in Warwickshire.

Family Addiction Information in Warwickshire
At ESH Community Rehab, we recognise the impact that addiction has not only on the individual, but on the whole family. Families are often left feeling worried, overwhelmed, and unsure how best to help. Our role is to provide clear, honest, and factual information about addiction and recovery, helping families understand the options available and make informed decisions during what is often a difficult and emotional time.
While family support is important, our primary responsibility is always to the resident in our care. For this reason, family involvement at ESH is offered in a structured and purposeful way that supports the resident’s recovery journey, promotes healthy boundaries, and encourages long-term independence.
Family Involvement
Our experienced team provides guidance and information to families who are concerned about a loved one’s substance use. This includes education around addiction, recovery, and the emotional challenges that families commonly experience.
To support communication and transition, we offer a structured family call towards the end of a resident’s placement, where appropriate and with the resident’s consent. This call provides an opportunity to
- Review progress made during the placement
- Discuss ongoing recovery and aftercare plans
- Clarify how families can best support recovery following discharge
- Reinforce healthy boundaries moving forward
This approach allows families to feel informed and involved, while ensuring the resident remains central to all decision-making.

Supporting Families & Understanding Treatment Options
At ESH Community Rehab, we recognise that addiction affects not only the individual, but the entire family. When a loved one is struggling, families are often left feeling worried, confused, and unsure where to turn or what the “right” decision is.
Drawing on over 15 years of experience supporting families across Warwickshire, we provide clear, honest, and factual information about addiction and recovery. Our aim is to help families understand the options available, reduce uncertainty, and make informed decisions during what is often a difficult and emotional time.
Families are frequently faced with a wide range of treatment options, often with significant differences in cost, approach, and intensity. Higher costs do not necessarily mean better quality care or improved recovery outcomes. What matters most is that treatment is appropriate for the individual’s needs, circumstances, and stage of recovery.
We help families understand the differences between residential rehabilitation, detox support, community-based services, and aftercare pathways. We take time to explain what each option can realistically offer, including potential benefits and limitations, so decisions are based on understanding rather than urgency, pressure, or cost alone.
Over the years, we have supported families from all backgrounds, many of whom have been living with addiction-related stress for long periods of time. Parents, siblings, partners, and children can all experience anxiety, emotional exhaustion, loss of trust, and long-term emotional effects. We aim to reduce stigma by helping families understand addiction as a complex condition, rather than a personal failing.
While family involvement is important, our primary responsibility is always to the resident in our care. Family support at ESH is therefore offered in a structured and purposeful way, designed to support the resident’s recovery while maintaining healthy boundaries and professional focus.
Family Involvement in Recovery
We actively encourage family members to attend pre-admission visits wherever possible. These visits provide an opportunity to ask questions, understand the structure of the programme and gain clarity about what to expect throughout treatment.
Addiction affects the whole family, not just the individual. Pre-admission visits allow us to begin building open and supportive communication from the outset. We will explain how our residential programme works, outline expectations, discuss boundaries and answer any practical concerns around contact and visits and ongoing involvement.
Family members are also invited to take part in a structured family call towards the end of a resident’s placement. This supports healthy communication and shared understanding and preparation for life after treatment.
Where appropriate, we can also signpost families to external organisations and local support networks to ensure they receive guidance in their own right.
Our aim is to promote clarity, reduce anxiety and help families feel informed and supported throughout the recovery journey.
Family Support in the Community
Families are encouraged to access community support services such as Al-Anon, Fam-Anon and Dilemma Family Support. These organisations provide confidential guidance, peer support and practical advice for those affected by a loved one’s addiction.
Connecting with others who have lived experience can help reduce isolation, build understanding and provide reassurance during what can often feel like an overwhelming time. Community support also helps families develop healthy boundaries and coping strategies alongside their loved one’s recovery journey.
Where appropriate, we can provide information and signposting to local and national services to ensure families receive the right level of support in their own right.

Detox & Rehab Packages at ESH Community
At ESH Community, we provide safe, structured, and person-centred detox and rehabilitation programmes for individuals seeking help with alcohol addiction, drug dependence, and other substance-related issues. Our approach combines medically monitored detox, therapeutic support, and a calm countryside environment — creating the ideal setting for residents to begin their recovery.
As a small, male-only residential rehab centre in Warwickshire, we typically support around six residents at a time. This allows us to offer highly personalised care, with staff who get to know each resident individually. Our experienced team work closely with each person to manage withdrawals safely, understand the emotional and behavioural causes of addiction, and develop practical tools for long-term recovery.
