Our Process
- 1. Initial Pre-Admission Visit
At ESH Community, we encourage all potential residents and families to attend a free no obligation pre-admission visit. This visit is relaxed and informal, giving the individual and families the chance to meet the team, ask questions, and learn more about our detox and rehabilitation programme.
A pre-admission visit also helps people feel more comfortable by seeing the environment, understanding daily routines, and gaining clarity on what residential rehab involves. Many find this step reassuring and helpful when deciding on the right treatment option.
To book a pre-admission visit or speak to a member of the team, contact us via our website, Whatsapp or call 01926 811702.
- 2. Medically Monitored Detox
When a resident arrives at ESH Community, their treatment begins with a medically monitored detox. This process is overseen by our specialist addiction psychiatrist, who completes a full assessment before prescribing an individual detox plan tailored to the resident’s needs.
A typical detox lasts around 7–8 days, although this may vary depending on the substance involved and the person’s health history. Throughout this period, our trained staff provide 24/7 monitoring, reassurance, and practical support to ensure safety and comfort at every stage.
Our focus is to make detox as calm, dignified, and manageable as possible, creating a stable foundation for the therapeutic rehabilitation work that follows.
- 3. Residential Rehabilitation Program
Once detox is complete, residents begin a structured rehabilitation programme designed to support emotional, psychological, and physical recovery. Each resident receives two one-to-one counselling sessions per week with an accredited BACP counsellor, alongside daily therapeutic group sessions. These sessions help individuals explore the underlying causes of addiction, including thinking patterns, behaviours, and emotional triggers.
In the evenings, residents attend local AA/NA fellowship meetings to build early connections within the recovery community and begin developing long-term peer support networks.
This structured approach helps rebuild routine, purpose, and accountability — elements often disrupted during active addiction — while supporting long-term, sustainable recovery.
- 4. Holistic Therapies and Activities
Alongside therapeutic work, residents also take part in gentle physical and wellbeing activities designed to improve both physical and emotional health. These include yoga, tai chi, personal training sessions, and countryside walks — all helping to restore routine, confidence, and motivation.
Each week, residents also take part in our dedicated “Spiritual Day”, where they are introduced to meditation, breathwork, and acupuncture. These activities support emotional regulation, reduce stress, and help individuals reconnect with themselves in a calm and grounded way.
This holistic approach complements the therapeutic programme and supports the development of healthy lifestyle habits that can be carried into long-term recovery.
- 5. Family Awareness and Guidance
Family involvement begins from the very first point of contact. Addiction affects not only the individual, but the wider family system — and in many cases, it is family members who reach out to us first. From that moment, we offer guidance, reassurance, and information to help families understand the recovery process for the individual and what to expect.
As the resident approaches the end of their placement, we arrange a dedicated family call involving the key people in their life. This conversation focuses on preparing for life after rehab, setting healthy boundaries, managing expectations, and understanding how best to support a loved one in early recovery.
Our relationship with families does not end when the resident leaves, we remain available for ongoing awareness and guidance helping both the resident and their family to continue building stability, trust, and long-term recovery together.
- 6. Aftercare and Ongoing Support
Aftercare is a core part of the support we provide at ESH Community. Every resident receives two follow-up counselling sessions after leaving the programme to help with the transition back into day-to-day life and maintain the progress made during treatment.
We also run a weekly Tuesday evening aftercare group at the rehab, open to all former residents. This provides a safe space to return, reconnect, and receive continued support. These sessions are extremely valuable not only for those attending, but also for current residents, who benefit from hearing the experiences of people who have been exactly where they are now.
In addition, past residents can request further one-to-one support if needed, ensuring nobody feels alone in their recovery journey. Our team also remains available by phone 24/7 should someone require guidance, reassurance, or help during difficult moments.
Our aftercare programme helps build long-term stability, confidence, and connection — supporting recovery well beyond the time spent in treatment.

Recovery Success
The key measurement of success at our drug and alcohol rehab is sustained recovery, which is basically the length of time ex-residents stay clean after completing the drug and alcohol recovery programme at our residential drug and alcohol rehab.
“We provide professional and highly successful drug and alcohol counselling support at our local drug and alcohol rehab centre in the West Midlands.”
Our programme of drug and alcohol treatment and aftercare was designed by professionals who themselves have lived personal experiences of addiction and who understand what is required to achieve a successful recovery.
The drug and alcohol treatment programme of recovery is based around our very successful leading-edge model of a smaller-sized drug and alcohol recovery rehab community providing local support for local people in the West Midlands – this approach has several fundamental and key benefits which all contribute to our incredibly high success rate.
Addiction Support
Our addiction treatment centre was purposely established as a small recovery community with drug and alcohol treatment at the same location as our accommodation. Our drug and alcohol rehab support programme is designed to support a smaller number of residents, which enables us to provide the best possible personal and focused drug and alcohol counselling support for each individual. Our team of professional and experienced staff, therapists and counsellors are able to offer the optimal personal and dedicated time for each and every resident.
“We recognise that drug and alcohol addiction is influenced by people’s life experiences. The drug and alcohol treatment we offer for people suffering with addiction issues is personalised to accommodate their unique circumstances and needs.”
As residents progress through their initial detox they start to participate in our programme of education and psychotherapy (individual and group). Each resident will have regular 1-2-1 drug and alcohol counselling sessions with an experienced, professional specialist addiction counsellor. The group sessions and individual therapy encourage the residents to explore and understand the underlying root causes of their alcohol addiction and addictive behaviour.
Addiction Aftercare
Providing support for people who are local to our drug and alcohol rehab in the West Midlands enables us to deliver the essential ongoing addiction aftercare that is required when the residential placement has finished. This ongoing drug and alcohol recovery support has an incredible impact on the sustained recovery success rate we achieve which is currently second to none. Aftercare for our residents following the completion of their placement is essential and is included in the overall drug and alcohol recovery rehab treatment package.
Our aftercare incorporates follow-up 1-2-1 drug and alcohol counselling sessions, telephone support and regular aftercare groups supported by professional staff.
Family Support
Local support also means we can give direct support to the families of our residents by providing family support in parallel but separate to the resident’s treatment stay and then ongoing support alongside the resident’s aftercare.
Medically Assisted Detox in West Midlands
The rehab’s team of professional staff support and monitor residents 24/7 safely through any medically assisted detox minimising any drug or alcohol withdrawal symptoms. Our specialist consultant addiction psychiatrist supervises all detox and rehab admissions.
Residents are then guided through our treatment programme which will identify the root cause of the addiction issues and the long term solution.
Detox & Rehab Packages at ESH Community
At ESH Community, we provide safe, structured, and person-centred detox and rehabilitation programmes for individuals seeking help with alcohol addiction, drug dependence, and other substance-related issues. Our approach combines medically monitored detox, therapeutic support, and a calm countryside environment — creating the ideal setting for residents to begin their recovery.
As a small, male-only residential rehab centre in Warwickshire, we typically support around six residents at a time. This allows us to offer highly personalised care, with staff who get to know each resident individually. Our experienced team work closely with each person to manage withdrawals safely, understand the emotional and behavioural causes of addiction, and develop practical tools for long-term recovery.
If you are looking for a private rehab that provides safe detoxification, structured therapy, and ongoing aftercare, ESH Community offers a supportive, focused environment tailored to early recovery.
